Not a Tall Man, 6ft 0205lbs. Thermals have been around for a long time. Found size 2XL fits me best. Not big, not XL. But 2XL. The older Hanes 2XL was supposed to be the standard 52-56 case, but the last two were - 52-56 on the box, 46-49 on the label. Both were too small and abandoned. The top or bottom of thermal underwear can always be oversized - as everyone knows, (1) they don't fit exactly like clothes, and (2) too big is better than too small. I would advise you to buy at least one level. or two above and buy a top/bottom to start. I wear an oversized shirt, maybe an oversized sweater or an XL sweater, but for thermals I ended up in the 2XL zone for a nice comfortable fit.
