To be honest, I really only bought this set for the whale. I thought this whale looks really cool and he can put a lot of parts in his mouth. The rest of the numbers represent the mixed bag. The giraffe is decent, but sadly not stylistically in line with most standard Lego animals. I believe he and Keith are based on repurposed Lego Duplo shapes, but I could be wrong. I think the whale is much better translated. The giraffe could have looked better if the hooves were painted, but I can't say for sure. Alligator and Shark are pretty solid figures that closely resemble their Lego counterparts. Gorilla is repurposed by Gorilla Grodd and Grodd's distinctive helmet is missing. Otherwise, he has literally the same headprint and almost the same chest as Grodd. I think it's kinda fishy. Aside from the whale, the alligator, and the shark, the only other character I think is worthy is the cougar. I think the print might differ a bit but other than that it looks ok and I think it's detailed enough. All other animals are more or less wobbly. From the odd print selection to the lack of color, I feel like they leave a lot to be desired. I think the panda may have the original shape but it looks wobbly. I think if you don't mind repainting/adding extra detail on a few characters this is a great character set, but if you want to play with them right away they are mediocre at best. I would only recommend this set if you need a kit. I'll probably keep it along with a few other characters I like, maybe repaint the cows and donate the rest.
