I bought a pair of crimping pliers for a little work. it was cheap but it was a small job. Sufficient for 4 crimps. So I ordered a TEMCo Hammer Lug Crimper Tool to complete the job. It arrived a day early with a 1 year money back guarantee and worked great the first time. The tool is heavy enough not to move and has a spring that holds the connector in the tool. I didn't attach it to the bench, nor did I think I needed it. All I needed was a solid surface to rest the tool on, as any bouncing off the floor or bench made it almost impossible to connect. I held the wire in place with one hand, holding the tool between my thumb and forefinger. Two hits with a five pound hammer, no hits, just one hit with the hammer and the terminal was securely fastened. It doesn't need more! In fact, one touch is probably enough, but a second touch results in a "hard" sound, indicating a solid connection. I just connected the terminals to the 4AWG and 8AWG wires. I am very happy with my TEMCo Hammer Lug Crimper; My only regret is that I didn't buy it right away.
