Mechanically it works on a 2001 Toyota Corolla, but the hub diameter is different from the original!
Although this element controls the ignition, it has a different diameter than the original and the plastic case does not cover it, there is a gap around the cylinder (stamping according to start) . I believe it could be for earlier model years or maybe some other trim where those cars have a lighted plastic ring around the ignition cylinder. Please see the attached photos to see the difference between them. The new cylinder is the left one and the right one is the original one. Notice the difference in the diameter of the sleeve that contains the key.
