First of all, #1 I was disgusted right after opening the box upon delivery and finding my brackets were probably bouncing around loose out of their completely opened soft and thin product box! And the shipping box for these two small bracket was about 4 feet long x 10 inches wide with only ONE sheet of brown packing paper floating around in the box with the brackets. POINTLESS! It's a wonder that the brackets weren't scratched and dented or even completely ruined! Shame on the Shipping Department for their careless (couldn't care less), lazy shipping efforts. I guess on this particular product, any scratches would have been easier to accept since the brackets will be hidden usually!Besides the peeve, the brackets seemed well made, good quality and I liked the design and functionality! The ONLY problem (for me) with my brackets was that the brackets were more than 90 degrees past right angles!So by the end of my 24 inch Shelf they would be sticking UP about 1/2 inch passed LEVEL. For my project, I needed to match a Level 24 inch x 48 inch - work/crafts bench (in my living quarters) so I could extend my "flat" work surface by 24 inches so I could lift up the shelf and have more room to work with longer objects when the need arises, etc.! I needed a smooth level transition from work bench to the new shelf, and these brackets would NOT accomplish that without improvising with plenty of shimming between the shelf and bracket or the wall and bracket (not acceptable). If they could improve the design to offer at least a few degrees (+/-) of leveling adjustment in the bracket they would be perfect and would probably solve most leveling issues for every project.If this was just for a garage shelf standing by itself, than no big deal I guess, unless you are OCD inclined!The brackets could have been another 1/2 inch wider also, for more structural solidity and stability, more importantly where they are attached to the wall (especially as the brackets you ordered become longer in length as my 20 inch brackets! Especially if you can't lock the the shelf solidly and squarely to a back wall, etc.!Oh, I forgot to mention the hilarious anchors and screws they ship with all these types of products! Totally useless! Chuck most hardware you get from the Manufacturers and head over to your DIYS store, or Ebay and get appropriate hardware to DO THE JOB!So I give this product 3 stars (maybe even 4) for solid design, but for quality control, leaving the factory "Out Of Square" and then with NO WAY for adjusting the angle at all, it's a fail for my particular needs!Too bad, because I did want these brackets to work as they were a nice design with the Simple Lever to solidly lock the shelf in place and Fold the shelf! Too bad it locked it in place "out of square" !Again these brackets will work fine for most buyers, but I couldn't figure out a sensible way to improvise that made it worth the overall effort, added time, and cost, just to make these brackets work for me!Plan "B" !
