Review on πŸ–₯️ HYPERX ARMADA 27 - 1440p, 165Hz, 1ms, All-In-One Package: Including Desk Mount - HyperX Armada 27 HD by David Samuelson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pretty good. to my rating.

It seems like every company that knows about gaming makes their own gaming monitor, and HyperX is no exception. Is it still good? π˜π—Ή; 𝗱𝗿: everything is fine. :πŸ“Ί The panel quality is what you would expect from an affordable IPS panel. It has decent colors and viewing angles, and I can't complain about its uniformity. πŸ“Ί What I can complain about is the contrast. The industry has shifted to mini-LEDs and to a lesser but increasing extent to OLEDs. Both panel technologies deliver incredible levels of contrast, and IPS certainly hasn't fared well in this regard. It's certainly not HyperX's fault, and the price "kinda" reflects that fact, but: πŸ“Ί The price (at the time of writing) is a bit higher than the competition, even with the monitor arm. It's hard to say that this is a value proposition as it doesn't bring anything particularly new to the table aside from the monitor arm. πŸ“Ί The monitor seems a lot lighter than I expected, which is surprising considering it doesn't have an external power supply. I'm not sure if it's internal or if they don't need it, but it will help if you're using your own hand for some reason. HyperX's packaging engineers really went above and beyond with the packaging. There's not a drop of styrofoam in it, but the way they use the space and its structural integrity feel premium. On the other hand, HyperX's marketing team and graphic designers have completely given up on the ball. The renders provided on the product page show an almost borderless monitor, which is not true. This is basically like advertising a house with no extra square footage and a consistent mistake. It goes a long way to saying this is a good monitor. It's in the expected price range (if not higher). The quality control makes a solid impression and I could not find any defects on either the mount or the panel. I hope that's a sign they have something and I'd love to see how they fare on more expensive monitors.
