I bought this set because I needed a pair of light deep bowls for whipping cream or egg whites. The two largest are quite suitable for this. Lids are fine too and bowls can be used for storage. Silicone on the bottom prevents them from sliding on the countertop. This is good if I don't want the bowl to slide off. It's bad if I just want to get the bowl out of the way. The silicone coating on the bottom makes stacking a little harder than if it weren't there. The bowls are stainless steel which means I can use them directly on my induction hob. I can put a few pieces of chocolate in a bowl, place it on the induction heating element and voila (depending on how high I set the intensity) I have melted chocolate that doesn't burn (again, depending on how high I set the intensity). I love it and use the bowls right on my induction cooktop for a lot of things. Unless I'm making something that requires a glass bowl, I never use my old Corning bowls again.
