There are several types of these lamps but I chose this one because of its length; some of them are more like headlights. This light doesn't consume excessive battery power, making it ideal if you want to use your laptop without plugging it into an outlet. (Just make sure your computer is fully charged when you start it up.) This light gives the keys enough shine but doesn't leave behind a glare. It took a few times to get used to the light bar - you have to adjust yours so you can see the screen so the bar doesn't cover the bottom half inch. never mind I recommend this product!
