This shelf does not feel strong. Also, in the instructions you assemble the top of the shelf and then assemble the bottom part, then these 2 parts are only connected with a wooden dowel, not screws. The bottom half has 4 screws and camlocks that you think should connect to the top half, but they don't screw into the top half - there are actually no drilled holes to connect those screws to the camlocks. top half of the rack, meaning the camlock screws will protrude about 1/8 inch from the bottom of the rack and hit the top half of the rack, leaving a gap. Update: I was able to best use the bookshelf on the side, which I felt was necessary because I didn't trust it to be stable. Ultimately, this method works very well because I can fit very tall books in and pull them out easily.
