I've been using this for about a month and it worked great initially. I'm not sure what's going on now, but my cubes are getting smaller. I fill the base with warm water, then put it in the freezer and fill the cube tray all the way to the top. About eighteen hours later I'm getting nice clear cubes, but somehow they're all about 1/4 inch or so in the shell. The water appears to rise up the sides between the silicone tray and plastic box and then run into the freezer. My plastic box doesn't seem to be leaking at all, but for some reason the water is being pushed out and the tray's level is going down, resulting in about 2 x 2 x 1 3/4 inches less than the square cubes. Try all the cool water and see if that helps. I'm just not sure what molecular process is going on here. Don't get me wrong, I love love love this thing. I just want to clarify this issue. *EDIT*: Using water of the same temperature reduces the "shrinkage" of the cubes. I think using warm/hot water on the bottom seemed to freeze the top much quicker than the bottom, which was a big plus. I just fill them with cold tap water and put them in the freezer now. You should always put it on a tray or something because it overflows a little no matter what I think and you don't. I don't want excess water to just run into the freezer and freeze to the bottom or elsewhere.
