does the job. at Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets

However, this is not user friendly. The holes in the bottom of the ice tray make it very bulky. The water under the tray eventually turns to ice inside the tray and it's a real agony to separate. When you separate it, the cubes start to melt and then stick together. I won't say it's not worth it as the clear ice is quite impressive. But it's not worth the trouble. play around with it regularly. Oh, and freezing takes forever.

Ice is not crystal clear despite following instructions exactly

Results are better than using a traditional ice cube tray, but so far only the top third of the ice cube has been clean and even these results have not been consistent. The amount of air that has entered the cube increases as it penetrates deeper into the cube. Use filtered warm water for the bottom two inches and add room temperature filtered water until bowl is 90% full. While I love that I can do 10 cubes at a time, this product still needs some fine tuning to get consistent results. get the

This 2x2 ice cube mold for opaque cubes works just like more expensive machines. Directional freezing of water is achieved by adding warm water to the bottom insulated container while silicone cube molds receive colder water. Placed in a refrigerator's freezer, the cube-shaped section freezes first, forcing air and contaminants through the cube-shaped opening and into an insulated container beneath the mold, which freezes last. The result is crystal clear ice cubes. My first attempt yielded 10…

Almost completely pure ice

Up to this point I've made my own clear ice using a simple cooler. This method has always produced absolutely clean ice. The problem was that trying to dice the resulting block of ice is messy. I was excited to try the clear ice tray hoping to save myself the hassle of cutting ice. I made sure to follow the directions, using warm water at the bottom of the liner and colder water to fill the dice tray. I've tried this several times with relatively good results. This is certainly more convenient,

Perfectly clean large cubes of unfiltered tap water.

Perfect clear big ice cubes on my first try. Highlights: - I used HOT WATER straight from the tap. NO BOILING, NO FILTERING. I set the Alexa reminder to 18 hours after putting it in the freezer. According to the enclosed instructions, the lower part should not be frozen, only the upper part with the ice tray. To deflate, I peel back the silicone edges and run a butter knife over the crust of ice that forms between the shells. Sides of the silicone tray and the plastic container. Then I put the…

Much easier than the cool method

I usually use the cooler method, which is pretty much right, but easier. My old method was to freeze water in the fridge so that it freezes top to bottom. When I pulled out the block of ice, the top 2/3 was pure ice and the bottom 1/3 was cloudy. In about an hour of cutting and carving by hand, I would have ice cream like this, but with a lot more effort. These are my first two batches using only filtered water from my fridge and 20 hours in the freezer. Twenty hours seems ideal to me so the…

Basically works great and the price is right

I've been using this for about a month and it worked great initially. I'm not sure what's going on now, but my cubes are getting smaller. I fill the base with warm water, then put it in the freezer and fill the cube tray all the way to the top. About eighteen hours later I'm getting nice clear cubes, but somehow they're all about 1/4 inch or so in the shell. The water appears to rise up the sides between the silicone tray and plastic box and then run into the freezer. My plastic box doesn't…
