I tested many hydration systems while training for a marathon. Of the many hip bottle bags, hydration belts, and tote bags I've tried, this one is my favorite. For portable devices, I prefer to carry the bottle on the outside of my hand rather than in my palm to free my hand and fingers to access the strap, open gels, etc. I have contacted Amphipod customer service (after -Lite and Hydrostrobe) to ask if the Ergo-Lite could be worn that way and after testing they said yes, that's how it would work. So I put the bottle back up my sleeve and wear it on the outside of my arm so that it's still facing me and conforming to the curve of my outside. It's very safe and convenient. The pocket is very small, big enough for a gel or a bunch of keys, but I use a waist strap so it wasn't cumbersome for my purposes. During the marathon it was a little inconvenient to stop more often to fill up this small bottle at water stations, so I'll be testing the 16oz version soon. I found the 20 ounce bottles too heavy for my comfort when running long distances so hopefully the 16 ounce bottle is a good compromise.
