The packaging recommends soaking in hot water before wearing. DO THAT! I used hot tap water. It is important to remember one thing: do not rush to put them on. I had to put the first one back in the water and grab the other one and all went well. Using 3 clamps and a pair of flat head screwdrivers worked well. I started and clamped it in 2 places and as I worked on it I used the 3rd clamp and just jumped over it and BAM! Did! Works much better than the original tires (they are probably 30 years old) but it's too early to talk about durability. If they last as long as the originals, my son and his son will change them! I recommend, they are not the most expensive but worth the money!
