It's A Bowl. for my opinion

It holds food pretty good. The tilted bowl makes it easy on my 10 year old cat to eat his food as he's super prone to throwing it up. Having this bowl has completely eliminated his throwing up and he eats better now. But I do recommend only getting the single bowl for food and water. The double bowl might be hard to remove without spilling the food as the bowl clicks into the stand. Overall, I like the product. I will be purchasing another for his water.
