I received a parcel from a well-known Chinese online store. The tester was purchased out of curiosity. In the arsenal of any electrician there are always several devices that allow you to detect the presence or absence of voltage. This device differs from the usual screwdrivers - testers by the absence of the need to use your own body as a "capacity", and direct contact with the bare contacts of the network. Using it is very simple. Press "on", bring it to the outlet, and as the electric field increases, the nasty squeak becomes louder and more frequent, the red LED blinks in the transparent head of the device and additional segments turn on on the indicator scale next to the buttons. The second button turns on quite bright flashlight. In order to save the energy of two AAA batteries, the tester is equipped with an auto-off after 3 minutes of inactivity. But in the bag, I still unscrew the back cover half a turn, because the buttons are pressed very easily. From the point of view of practical application, I discovered several advantages for myself, I will share one: the included tester can be placed next to the outlet, and you yourself can safely go to the shield, in search of the "machine" that feeds this room. Since the device squeals loudly, by clicking the buttons you will immediately hear that you have found the right switch. A normal screwdriver can't do that. Of the minuses, I note the lack of sensitivity adjustment. The "pencil" starts signaling already 10 centimeters before the conductor, so it is problematic to determine exactly where the phase is and where the zero is. Hence the conclusion - this device should by no means be the ONLY one in the arsenal.
