My main concern was that the jacket would get too hot to wear in the sun. I just checked: I ran 8 miles in 90-100*F sun - obviously I felt the heat but the jacket let the wind through. I didn't feel overheated even though I was wearing a jacket. In fact, I didn't tan at all! There was no sunscreen but the jacket protected me perfectly. I appreciated that the sleeves also covered most of my arms without interfering with my grip too much. I didn't test the hood - I was wearing a wide hat - but I'm sure that would work well too. I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to many sun protection trips!
