Battery charging is not for beginners. I had to change the internal structure to make the device stop burning constantly, which quickly drains the battery. The modification consisted of bending a strip of brass that is part of the electrical switch. The unit should turn on when a slide is inserted into the viewer and turn off when the slide is ejected and the pusher arm is retracted for the next slide. After completing this operation and after several attempts to bend the brass strips properly, the last 3 weeks performance has been good.
