A year ago I decided to buy a sewing machine because I always wanted to learn. I am an avid motorcyclist and have been observing patches being sewn onto leather vests and jackets for many years. I also looked at the fees for this. One of my reasons for buying a sewing machine! I also had to hem a pair of motorcycle trousers recently for cost reasons. And the wait, it just wasn't worth doing something relatively easy. I've sewn a lot since then and I'm still learning. I decided I wanted to make some alligators for motorcycle forks that need neoprene. I ordered neoprene, measured the fabric and when I went to sew the neoprene was all torn! I did a little research on YouTube and they suggested one of these legs. Let me tell you these things are AMAZING because of the frustration I've experienced! For you seasoned sewers, I'm sure you know all about it, but I don't! And I'm glad I found out and ordered it! I was able to sew the neoprene with no problems! I had to read the instructions to install it, but it wasn't that hard if you know how to use a screwdriver and are familiar with your machine. Definitely recommend this for any plumbing job, from beginner to advanced!
