Great all round walking foot.

I sew a lot and since I ordered this foot it has become my favorite. I leave it attached to almost everything I sew and usually only take it out when I need to use the zipper foot. The only time I had trouble with this was when sewing multiple layers of very thick material, like in one seam; It tends to jump around and skip stitches. But for basic sewing, sheer or thin fabric, I highly recommend it.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Uniform optional

Works great after modifications

After only using this walking foot for a few months it started making a horrible grinding noise and stopped working. After taking it apart we found that the internal metal parts were grinding on their own, but my friend was able to adjust the worn parts and add some lube. After these steps it works like a dream but the product didn't have enough lubrication and didn't work well until we modified it. I highly recommend taking it apart and adding lube as soon as you get it to eliminate this…

I also looked at the fees for this. One of my reasons for buying a sewing machine! I also had to hem a pair of motorcycle trousers recently for cost reasons. And the wait, it just wasn't worth doing something relatively easy. I've sewn a lot since then and I'm still learning. I decided I wanted to make…

It works as expected.

After reading reviews of fake ($15) I decided to buy a genuine Brother sewing foot. However, when he arrived he had no brother and looked almost like everyone else. The state of the fake in the reviews (broken in two weeks, the feeling of cheapness, leaked oil, etc.). So I spent $50 on what appeared to be a genuine item. I can't say yet whether it was worth it. This unit is a type of walking leg. It doesn't pull on the fabric, it relies (like all the others I suspect) on pulling the fabric…
