They are warm and light. They're windproof, but I suspect they're actually waterproof. They don't seem to be breathing at all, which makes them a little "sticky" at first. In the end I have no complaints. I spent the morning sledding with my daughter and my fingers were never cold. The touchscreen function works well enough on my phone to snap a few shots without removing my gloves, but for something more precise like sending text I couldn't imagine you doing that with it. But that's okay because that's not what I bought it for.
