Review on πŸŒ‘ Black ecobee Lite Smart Thermostat by Stephen Vasquez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

so you don't have to spend money on a full-fledged thermostat

I got it to replace my Nest Gen. 3 when changing the air conditioner. Nest was no longer compatible with 16 Seers with 2 heating/cooling speeds, heat pump, auxiliary heating and emergency heating. After some research I settled on Ecobee3 Lite. Most home air conditioners don't have humidifiers, dehumidifiers, or fans, so there's no reason to spend money on a fully-functional version. Also, the only difference from 3 and 4 is the built-in Alexa. Ecobee3 Lite integrates well with my Smartthings and Google Home. The installation took about 1 hour (30 hours reading the manual and 30 hours actually installing). I have two systems at home, one with Ecobee and one with Nest. I have to say that I like the Ecobee3 Lite better than the Nest. I'm not interested in their "smart learning" feature because my family doesn't have a set routine. It works well with smart geofencing from my wife's iPhone and my Samsung S7. I haven't touched the thermostat since installing it. The entire control is done by voice via Google Home and Geofencing.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Without instructions
