I would give this scanner five stars if not for the following: Others notice that it's a gray market product, and that's why it's important. First, I love the hardware. I didn't like the Paper Stream software that came with it. I found it difficult and confusing. I ended up downloading ScanSnap Manager for fi series which is incredibly easy to install and set up. But here's the problem: after a few days, the scanner stopped finding any software. He kept wanting to take me to my Windows scanning software, or my MFP software, or my PDF software. I worked with my IT, to get it working, but after a few days the connection dropped again. My IT specialist spent a few hours on this but couldn't solve the problem. I then called Fujitsu Tech Support (800) 626-4686, gave them the serial number and was told it was not a US serial number and the scanner was not intended to be sold in the US (North America? Not sure). This means that if there is a hardware problem, it will most likely not be covered by the warranty. On the other hand, it took the person I spoke to less than 10 minutes to get into my computer and make some changes, and now I'm ready again. She gave me a case number and assured me that if you had this software problem again, just give me a call. Give them the case number for free. The problem is that the scanner is defective. Conclusion: Five stars for product, one star for misleading marketing.
