We love our HP 8620 All in One Printer which is over 5 years old. Lately, however, he's started to brag and mistype, if at all. I ran a test page from the HP Print Doctor app (now you can do the same in the HP Smart app) and noticed that the magenta and yellow colors aren't printing, which means there's a clog somewhere in the system. Instead of replacing the printhead ($175+) or buying a new printer ($300+), after searching online for solutions, it was recommended to try cleaning the printhead first. Since the warranty period has expired, I thought that we must lose. I paid €14.99 for this set. While you can find a cleaning fluid recipe online, I believe there is a lot of fluid in the kit bottle so you don't have to craft it. The directions are colored and very helpful. It only took me about half the liquid or less to clear the clogs, but while I was there I decided to remove all four colors and use all of the liquid as I don't think I'll be repeating the process , if he is successful. The only issue I've dealt with is the dreaded "Ink Supply System Failure" error, which is common with this series of HP printers. None of the solutions I looked for online worked, but I was finally able to see in the HP Smart app that for some reason the printer thought my new HP black ink cartridge was very empty. I replaced it with another one I had and although I got a warning about using a previously used cartridge I was at least able to work around the error. I'm not sure I'll buy another HP printer again as this particular error is preventing you from accessing the menus and doing a hard reset. Extremely annoying. I hope to continue using this printer for a year or so and then move on to a new one. If it lasts that long, this cleaning kit is more than worth the money.
