Cut the ice pipe at the back of the fridge and connect this filter to it and in a day the ice will be crystal clear, brilliant white and tastier. It works and is amazed at how it seals with no leaks. The kit includes everything you need with step-by-step instructions. I had to buy a new plumbing line as the existing one was old and the inside could bulge because the tiny brass inserts that came with the kit wouldn't slide into the pipe. New 1/8" tubing and it worked. I didn't use thread tape, flux or anything else to connect this filter. It automatically seals as is. You will need pliers or small duct seals to secure the ends of the filter tightening just enough to close it to remove any stress on the waterlines A month has passed and the ice is brilliant white and/or crystal clear I think this filter has a lifespan of over 2500 gallons which in my case is for about a year is good.Hope this helps.
