This is a great cat flap but barely big enough. We have a 15 pound cat when she reaches her goal weight (now 17) and she uses the ENTIRE door. The locks are great, I really like that there are two of them to keep them stable. He rams the door when he wants to get out and that must be hard! Be careful when installing this, we set it too low because we didn't know what was the best way and it has to bend over to get through. This is also used as an interior cat door to allow the cat to go to the litter box in the basement. Not sure I would want this on an exterior door, especially on a really hot/cold day as the plastic is so flimsy.
