I was so excited to assemble and use this beautiful floor fan. I took everything out of the box, separated the recyclable cardboard from the styrofoam collected at the landfill, assembled and identified all the parts, and read the instructions before proceeding with the assembly. I did everything RIGHT. First instruction, removing the screw and plate was easy. I had high hopes for the rest of the build! Then I was told to put rod A in hole B. I tried, but it seemed to me that rod A was too big for hole B. I tried and tried but it was like trying to fit a square bar into a round hole. I also noticed that Pole A was misaligned at the base, at an angle of about 22.5 degrees, not level. Even if the rod were allowed to slip into its base, the fan's balance would be upset, creating a risk of tipping. All other parts seem to be of pretty good quality, especially for the money paid. I have received all the details. and instructions wrapped in plastic bags and tape for the scavengers to pick up on their next visit. Maybe a flea market shopper will take it home and file the pole at the right angle and open up the hole so the pole actually fits the base plate. I don't have the tools or the patience for that.
