Material defect, only worn 30 hours

My family of 5 wears New Balance shoes almost exclusively and I have been using the 1080 for running for years. I've had every model since v6 and loved them. But this one, the 1080 V11, only lasted 6 weeks before falling apart. The material in the heel split vertically causing the heel to slide inside the shoe no matter how tight I tightened the laces. Eventually I just cut off the blood flow to my toes, but my healing was still slipping. My leg tried to compensate and hold on and I started getting cramps in my feet and lower legs. After all, sometimes I stood on the edge of the sole, which hurt my heel, and I would twist my knee just enough to get knee pain walking down the stairs. I only realized the material had torn when I shook off some dust this week - the material is so flexible that when I'm not wearing shoes it shrinks back to its normal shape. But when I wear it you can see the cut and how the whole heel area stretches. This means that these shoes end up in the trash can after around 30 hours of wear. I don't even want to give them away for someone else to ruin their joints. For the price of the shoes I expected a longer lifespan. I don't know what to do now, I love New Balance but I won't be buying the 1080 model again. I bought the men's version for my son last week. The heel seems to have some horizontal support, so hopefully he won't have the same problem.
