Fits perfectly! Its worth it!

These shoes are awesome. I didn't know the difference between New Balance 1080 version 10 and version 11. Now I know it. I've always liked the 10's but I like the 11's better even though they cost more money they are now worth it for the perfect fit. I have already ordered a second pair in a different color.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's ok

Terrible heel - even 1080 fans should avoid it

I've been using 1080 for years and love them all but not this one. The heel has a very bizarre protrusion on the inside. It was ok when I tried it on, not great like new models sometimes do, but after 3 tries they just didn't fit. Bad version, terrible heel. Dear loser. Avoid.

  • Hands-free operation

  • Not sure

Quality product suitable for running

Shoes true to size, this is the third pair I have bought and they all fit perfectly. The laces are slightly elastic, so they are quite elastic when running, they are not too tight and not too loose. I usually change my shoes every 500 miles and they last longer. They are so well made that I often switch out insoles and continue to wear them for lower intensity workouts.

The best so far! Athletic

I tried v10 when they first came out and was very disappointed. But when I tried v11 I was glad I did! They are by far the most comfortable! Ideal for people who experience knee or back pain from standing on their feet all day. I am a nurse and only wore them for a 20 hour shift and after that I had no more pain. The heel seems to float (there is a pocket for it). Although my heel never touches the ground, there is plenty of support. The foam is very comfortable and soft but with plenty of…

Great sole, a bit loose

I switched to this model from my old version 9 shoes, I thought they looked a little better than version 10. The sole feels like walking on air , even more than my shoe version 9, but the width and length seem a bit loose. I wear a women's size 11 and sometimes manufacturers make ALL sizes larger than the size above instead of just making them longer and shifting the arch accordingly. Again, the outsole feels mechanically right, this upper is wider than usual and you can only pull the laces so…

Not for high arches

Shoes have great cushioning under the ball of the foot and heel and the heel cup provides a secure fit. The problem is in the midfoot and arch. While providing some arch support, the laces are tight and go very high on the instep, causing pain in the top of the foot. If you loosen the laces, you lose the stability offered by the stiffer "N" on the sides, and your feet slide forward and side-to-side. It also has a rockier bottom, making the heel-to-toe drop feel less than the advertised 8mm…

I liked them fresh out of the box

I used to run Brooks Glycerin and bought a size 8 1080v9 thinking they were just for the gym. If I accidentally sunbathe on them, I'll skip them and never run in my Brooks again (although they're just awesome). When they wore out I ordered a 1080v10 in the same size (8) and wasn't very comfortable in them, but gave them a quick try - they're small, narrow, hurt my toes... They were It just doesn't. They weren't made for me and I had to sell them. When I unboxed these 1080v11s (size 8.5) they…

Material defect, only worn 30 hours

My family of 5 wears New Balance shoes almost exclusively and I have been using the 1080 for running for years. I've had every model since v6 and loved them. But this one, the 1080 V11, only lasted 6 weeks before falling apart. The material in the heel split vertically causing the heel to slide inside the shoe no matter how tight I tightened the laces. Eventually I just cut off the blood flow to my toes, but my healing was still slipping. My leg tried to compensate and hold on and I started…
