First of all I can tell you that I have admired this camera ever since my husband and I bought it. For the price, it's the perfect little point and shoot. And it literally is. It took fantastic shots right out of the box (well, not technically, but I'll get to that in a moment). We didn't have to fiddle with the settings or fiddle with it in low light. The flash worked great and the face recognition system was great. And I can't say enough about the optical zoom. There aren't many cameras with 12x optical zoom in this price range. And it works great. You can zoom up to 12 and your shots will stay sharp and clear. Of course, the digital zoom goes up to 48x, but the further you go, the more you lose resolution. Now let's touch on the functionality out of the box. The only thing that puts these cameras off is the lack of storage. So here. A few shots is all you get unless you have a micro SD card ready. But now they are very cheap and I put 8GB in and you can take over 3000 full resolution shots. In summary, we loved this camera. We liked it so much we bought a second one so everyone can have one. I'm a cool blue color but he likes red haha. But we, as DSLR users, fully appreciate the functionality of this little compact camera and think it's really good. Happy shooting!
