Limited mounting options and no power supply, but working

First, if you want an industrial-grade switch, you know your options are limited: A) cheap generics with unknown build quality and warranties, or B) big-name switches with loud name tags. It was a good compromise between the two: a lifetime warranty from a reputable manufacturer at a reasonable price. Yes, it's more expensive than a 6-port Gigabit desktop switch, but it includes PoE, SFP, redundant power inputs, emergency contact, and industrial temperature ratings. The latter was important to my application as I was installing it in a fiberglass enclosure that would sit in the sun in ambient temperatures of up to 115F (and probably 150C inside the enclosure). power supply, you must power it with a suitable external 48VDC transformer. electricity or power supply. I chose to pair it with the Meanwell SDR-120-48, which is also DIN rail mountable and optionally connects to an on/off toggle switch. A couple of caveats: I originally intended to mount it flush with the back of the case using the wall mount tabs to save space, but these can only be oriented so that the switch protrudes from the wall rather than hugging it. This is probably to ensure there is enough airspace around it to prevent overheating, but it won't be obvious until you get it, so plan accordingly. I ended up with a deeper box and instead used DIN rails to mount it. It works but the Din Mount Clip is absolutely awful and very difficult to put on and take off. If it's safe, it's safe, but a spring clip like Meanwell's would be much better. Otherwise, if it survives the summer heat, I'm sure it will serve my needs for a long time to come. I hope I won't need it, but in this case it comes with a lifetime manufacturer's warranty.
