Great Little Mono-to-Stereo Converter Jack
This is exactly what I need for one of my Sony portable cassette players because if you plug a pair of headphones into it, it will the sound is output in mono (left ear only) unless a mono-to-stereo converter is used. It seems solid enough and the sound quality doesn't degrade with use. Another thing you might want to buy this plug for is to balance the sound output between the right and left earbuds, even if the sound comes out of both. If you've noticed more sound coming out of one earbud than the other, this thing isolates it pretty well.
