. Overall I am very satisfied. Lucky enough that I bought a second one and installed it in another room. The light is surprisingly bright, but can be dimmed, so only if you want it. Smart features are very useful. I like that I can plan color and brightness. For example, I set it to a bright and cool daylight white during the day and a darker (20%) warm white after sunset. Then when it's time for me to go to bed, it will automatically dim as a reminder. I also like the fact that it comes with a remote control instead of just relying on network control. Not only is this a convenient way to control this light, but since you can create automatons based on the state of the light, you can actually use this remote control to turn other smart lights on or off at the same time. However, the quality of the remote control is not very good; Sometimes it takes a few tries before it works. It's controlled with the Tuya Smart Life app, like many small-brand smart devices, and it works well. The Alexa integration works great; You can just say something like "Alexa, turn on the dome light" instead of something like "Alexa, ask Tuya to turn on the dome light" or something like that. Aesthetically this is very unassuming if you have a white ceiling; It's quite thin and you hardly notice it when the light is off. When it's on, all you really see is the light. That means it basically works anywhere; You don't have to worry about compatibility with other devices. If you end up installing more than one of these, be aware that the remotes *are* interchangeable, so you probably don't want to put them in the same place. Space (if you want to use the remote controls instead of a smart assistant or app). Speaking of installation, it's very easy. I had a built-in smoke detector in the right place so I didn't have to run new wires; Just plug it into your existing power supply and buy a battery powered smoke alarm (and a carbon monoxide alarm, why not?). The mounting bracket for this can be screwed into existing holes in a standard ceiling box, or you can use drywall anchors to mount directly to drywall. Of course, if you don't like working with electricity, you should hire an electrician. if you don't have to run new wires, it should be an easy job for you and therefore cheap. However, if you feel comfortable, this is definitely a DIY option. Just unplug the power cord first and make sure the power is off (I use the non-contact voltage tester built into my electric screwdriver, the Skil SD561201, which I really like). It comes with wire nuts for live and neutral connections, but I don't like using stranded wire in wire nuts so I used Wago lever nuts instead, which I highly recommend. Conclusion: This thing is easy to install. , incredibly bright when you want it, the color temperature is adjustable, it works great with other smart devices, it comes with a remote control and it's pretty cheap. What I do not like? I installed them in late October and early November 2021. I'll try to remember to come back and update my review if they stop working if I still live here.
