We had an earthenware vase next to our hob which we used to store kitchen utensils in, but the conical bottom and relatively narrow top opening meant it didn't hold much and also had a tendency to tip over when stuffed with things. At some point I looked for alternatives and found these. I love that it's made of stainless steel and big enough to hold all of the spatulas, spoons, ladles, tongs, whisks, brushes and other utensils we use regularly when cooking. I don't use spacer as I found. that it ended up reducing the capacity for my use, i.e. H. Just stuff things in willy-nilly, but if you're an "organized" person, you can use a separator to keep things that way. The bottom line is this was a great purchase that does a simple job really well, highly recommend.
