Fantastic purchase!

I have a set of stainless steel mixing bowls that my mother had before I was born. They are still in great shape and I love them for both practical and sentimental reasons. Thing is, I bake a lot and only have a large Pyrex mixing bowl. I find glass is better for mixing batter or bread dough because you can easily see if dry ingredients are sticking to the sides or bottom of the bowl. It's also easier to see how much the bread dough has risen. So I decided to buy a set of Pyrex bowls, including another large one. These bowls showed up in search results and not only were they cheaper but they also had a good buyer rating so I checked them out. I liked that the lids were clear and had great reviews so I bought these instead of Pyrex and I'm so glad I did! I haven't had them long, but they've come in handy. Like everyday use. They appear to be as sturdy as Pyrex and as I expected the clear lids come in very handy when baking bread. The bowls and lids have been washed many times in the dishwasher without damage. If hand washed they are easy to clean although they do get quite slippery so be careful. I have a porcelain coated cast iron sink and these bowls have survived multiple knocks against the sink wall with no sign of damage. I'm really very impressed! The only issue I have with them is that they fit quite tightly together so separating them is a bit of a hassle, but certainly not a deal breaker. In fact, I'll probably get a different set because I often bake more than one dish at a time and end up wanting two of each. Ouch! I nearly forgot that; The largest bowl in this set just fits in a large Pyrex bowl, perfect for my kitchen that doesn't have a lot of storage space! I would (and will) buy these bowls again. They also make a great gift for those who bake a lot. And when it comes time to pass the set of metal bowls on to one of my daughters, I won't miss them that much as I use them more often anyway. πŸ˜‰
