It just WORKS. maybe with a little tweak, for games.

Ever since my family moved in, I've had serious network problems. The (WLAN) router is only six to seven meters away from us on the same floor. but between them is a bathroom, so lots of copper pipes. And the neighborhood is full of wireless networks. So my connection was unreliable, weak and generally basic. Poorly. Very very bad. Internet must be 200 Mbps; I was lucky enough to get KILOBYTES per second at 2.4GHz. And at a frequency of 5 GHz, the signal strength was sometimes barely enough for registration, so I often had dropouts. When the two arrived, I just plugged them into the wall, used the ethernet cables (provided) to connect my router to one and my computer to the other, and . voila! Internet! I had a problem: when playing some games, the device's "power saving mode" would activate and the internet connection could drop. I did some searching and the answer was to write a batch file that pings the default gateway once per second while the computer is on. A few tricks to do this in the background and the problem is solved. It never hits the 140+ MB/s I've seen occasionally on a 5 GHz network, but it consistently hits 60-90 MB/s. It's important to note that this never fully _logs_ me (now that I have that ping). And to be honest, I'm very happy with it.
