Review on Yokohama BluEarth-A AE-50 215/65 R17 99V summer by Mateusz Wysokiski ᠌

The product is definitely not worth the nerves spent, its better not to take it.

Size 205/60 r16, pressure 1.8 front and 1.6 rear. Compared to the Michelin Primacy HP 225/45 r17 (2.0, 1.8), they handle a little worse, roll a little more in corners, but not significant. They accelerate and brake more efficiently, perhaps less pressure plays a role. Large irregularities are softer than Michelin, remember again about the difference in pressure, but at the same time, small irregularities are transmitted to the cabin much more clearly. Very noisy both during simple rolling and during the passage of bumps, in the transverse joints of the asphalt they thump like dead shock absorbers. Appearance is mediocre. I used these tires in the Michelin -> Yoko -> Michelin sequence for a month on the same roads. I purchased this kit as a comfortable alternative to the low-profile one, I am not satisfied with the result, the main goal was not achieved. . With an increase in air temperature, the wheel becomes softer, the second time we managed to try both sets in June at +25. Small defects Yoko began to swallow as effectively as Michelin, large ones are much better. In the water the Yoko handles very confidently, with little tendency to hydroplan. In general, as the temperature increased, the feel of the wheels became better. I'll ate my review after a year. With the beginning of spring, I again tried two sets of Michelin and Yoko and I can definitely say that the high-profile Yoka is very hard for 16 radius, no softer than Michelin. I decided to get rid of them, after the sale I was relieved, I bought a ContiPremium 5 195/55 r16, and now these wheels drive as they should behave 16 radius after 17. I can’t recommend Yoku to anyone.

Pros
  • They handle well, brake and accelerate well.
Cons
  • Rigid. Plastic protector.
