What really won me over about this product was how much faster it gave results compared to Marineland's Penguin 100. , 150 and 350 with preloaded Rite-Size cartridges. I have used the matrix in the Marineland Media Refill Cartridge (sold September) along with poly filter fiber to get the best results for my particular setups. and after 5-6 hours he gave me a clear aquarium (55G). Marineland's Rite-Size cartridges took at least 2-3 days to get almost the same results. In earnest. I also use Matrix Carbon in a 29 liter tank with Aquaclear 70 HOB in combination with a 100ml purigen bag for about a month. I still see crystal clear results without having to change the charcoal. Based on these compelling qualities, my next purchase will be a 1 liter jar of Marix. I don't really like doing without activated charcoal, as many hobbyists eagerly suggest.
