I was at a friend's house and was washing some plates that she had left in the sink when I first got her saw her using one of these. I can't stand sponges because they all seem to smell just after use. I boiled them, bleached them. have even reheated them in the microwave over the years. I've tried more tricks than I can remember over the years and they all seem frustrating. I saw my friends, used it and loved it! I liked the usage and the concept. When she came back I asked her where she found it and she couldn't remember but was sure it was a dollar store. I've looked around the world for dollar and discount stores and couldn't find one. Then I searched here and found them! I didn't need an 8 so I gave her round ones and kept the rectangular ones with concave sides. They're all different colors and sizes, so I have separate ones for plates and countertops, a coffee pot, and a bottle sterilizer. Also, I have one left! They're not absorbent, but I use paper towels, a kitchen towel, or a rag to soak up spills and the like. They are great for washing. There is no abrasiveness, so there are no scratches on cutlery and crockery. Most importantly, they don't stink! Yes!
