I have used many phone holders with vents (with Samsung J7) and none of them can hold the weight. I saw this one and was hoping it would work and the reviews were good. Once installed it lasted for a while after struggling to keep the vent from falling off under the weight. But one day it fell off and broke the ventilation rod attached to it. The clamp on the back of the device ensures very good pressure. Can work on a vertical air vent. I have since installed the T-rail on the dash and mounted the phone using the same mount. It still works.
