Very nicely finished natural wood, real glass frame. No streaks or vacation with paint. Matte cutting is precise with clean and sharp edges. The holes are marked for 5x7 stock, but overall they are 1/4 inch smaller in height and width. For my purposes, this didn't mask too much of what I framed, but be aware you will lose 1/8th. " on each side of the photo. The solid base is thick enough to provide good, rigid support for any art material you place in the frame, and is held in place with movable tabs instead of the glass-like points commonly used to hold everything in place But because of this method, the thickness of what you put in the frame is important because if your work is thick, the protrusions on the back will not match the slots they should be inserted in. Built-in hangers have been placed so that I seemed to be in an odd spot so when unfolded they touched the back of the wooden frame instead of staying in the recessed back.
