First of all I want to say thank you for the negative reviews that this ice tray is small...because it was exactly what I was looking for! I recently bought a one person portable blender. and realized I needed smaller ice cubes that would fit better in the blender. When I bought these ice cube trays they were $4 so I figured if they were cheap and fell apart on me it wouldn't be a big deal. I am very surprised at how much I liked these trays when they arrived. c, although you should definitely hand wash them before use. I don't know how to describe it, but the trays seemed... dusty? Also without seeing any stains or dirt I rinsed them with water and it got rid of the weird texture but I wouldn't use them if the dust lingers after a light wash (and no soap). I chose not to dock the star because I haven't had any problems with it since opening it, but thought others might have problems. As I'm a college student and have a small mini fridge with attached freezer, I'm glad these trays are small! I don't have a lot of space initially, but it's good to have ice for drinks when I'm not using a blender. I can see the tray's small size being an issue for some, but anyone with limited freezer space who only wants some ice occasionally will probably be very pleased! I'm hoping the shells will hold up as the silicone appears brittle and flimsy, but I'm not sure they will hold up. I think if I take them and don't wash them in the dishwasher they will be fine! Overall I'm very satisfied for $4 (at the time of purchase) and I might buy more if they ever come back. back on sale!
