Installation first. Comes with a template to attach to your door and trace to give a line to cut with your jigsaw. The main problem I have with cutting is that the underside of the cat door cuts through the solid board that makes up the door frame. The cut starts straight up but then makes a sharp bend (still in the frame part of the door). This was difficult with the jigsaw as the transition from vertical to curve was not gradual. After I started cornering, as soon as my saw passed the frame board, it would jump forward and much faster, resulting in a not-so-perfect cut. Luckily the cat door covered all the imperfections of the cut, but even if I cut it perfectly there would be too many cutouts (could be almost 1/4-1/2 inch smaller and fit snugly). I chose this. Cat door as one of my cats is slightly larger than it should be. After installation, I found that my cat can fit, but she almost has to crawl (it would be better if she was taller and not so wide). Because of this, she rarely uses the cat door. If the cat door was like what I've described below (above), she wouldn't mind. In general, I have no serious complaints. I probably wouldn't buy this again if they hadn't made it so it was a full frame that mounts over the wooden frame of the door (imagine the D is facing up instead of the C facing down, how it is). as I am concerned that my child will press and crack too hard on the edge of the door due to running out of full frame. Pros: Can accommodate a larger cat. Detachable brush. Seems durable. For most large cats, the pattern will appear a bit large (this will require you to cut out more than you need).
