Snug n' Sweaty: Camping & Hiking

Bought these to wear when I'm mopping up the weeds in my garden so I can wear shorts in the summer heat but keep the stickers off my socks. Yes, I know genius. They do an excellent job of that. As others have pointed out, they are not that easy to put on. I bought these because they have a zipper, which I think would be easier than just velcro. But they are quite snug and fit well around my medium sized calves, even in shorts, making it difficult to zip up. (see photo) Despite their narrowness, they are large. I have a very short stirrup wire and it still touches my knees (I'm 5ft 11in). The buckle/tape for this wire is the cheapest part of these gaiters. If they fail I think it will be a faux leather tear. There is also no right/left, both are identical. With a buckle on the inside, on the instep, they are much easier to close than with a buckle on the outside. But you will always get one of each. It should be noted that they DO NOT BREATHE. General. My legs look like I put the end of a garden hose in them when I took them off. Soaking.
