I was a bit skeptical as it would hold the laptop and not fall off. First, the base is pretty heavy. I tested this by trying to knock my laptop over with it in the bracket and it didn't kick at all. The laptop insert is covered with foam to prevent damage to the laptop. I tried it on my MacBook Pro 2014 and my MacBook Pro 2018 and both held up. It doesn't hold tablets like an iPad. I really like this product and it looks very modern on my desk!
