We have a 5 year old son and we buy slippers for him because for some reason he doesn't want to go barefoot. This is a great way to translate it into slippers because of the cute design. He likes that it's soft on the outside and comfortable on the inside. Looking inside, I see that there is padding/cushion for it as well. Bottom is pretty good on hardwood/tile floors. I have several spots, for some reason they are very slippery, and that will not prevent slipping either. If your bare foot slips, then everything slips. All in all great shoes for boys.
