Bought this for our 4 year old cat who was constantly attacking the mats. My 19 year old son put it together quickly and easily. He then sprinkled it with catnip to attract the cat, who immediately liked it! The cat has slept in our bed every night and now prefers an apartment, especially in the "cave" as we call it. We have a kitten for Christmas who loves it too, sleeps in the den too and loves to sit upstairs and look down at everything. The scratches look nice. My only complaint is that the stretchy rope holding the ball to the top pole broke after just a few days. We replaced it with the one that came with the flat so we'll see how long it lasts. Also, the bar that is attached to the ground wobbles a bit. Overall a decent product.
