Fits Niche: Furniture and Patient Transport

I work for a Wilderness Search and Rescue Team and a Disaster Search and Rescue Team. As a backup for use in an emergency, this is what you need. We put a 200 pound man in it during a wilderness search and rescue and dragged him through various terrain. The handles will wear out on your hands, so you'll need gloves. End handles facilitate patient observation and head support. It's clearly not as good as the super expensive ones. And of course I would always prefer a hard carrier with a backcountry carrier wheel. But I don't always have these things. As something lightweight to carry around in my backpack on a mission in the middle of nowhere, it fits into that niche. (It can also be used to protect an immobile patient, etc.) I can see where it wears out quickly when dragged around or heavily used in a disaster scenario. But if your other option is a poncho, blanket, door, etc., that's a step up.
