I bought this product because Apple thought it would be a smart idea to have fewer ports on my MacBook Pro. As a graphic artist, I use my computer with multiple displays, so I need to have more than one connected at the same time. Since one of the ports is needed to charge the computer (my battery needs servicing so I have to keep my power cord plugged in at all times) and I typically use an external hard drive to store my projects PLUS a Wacom tablet for drawing. Camera photos on my SD card as well as micro SD for my phone, the standard 2 Thunderbolt ports are definitely not enough ports. Now you can connect 2 USB-c, HDMI, micro and regular SD devices and 2 regular USB devices. I have more than enough ports. and it goes with everything and looks chic.
