This filter was able to keep even the finest grounds from getting into my coffee and give it that "grainy" texture which have some other filters. It's still not entirely reliable, but works well enough to ensure it doesn't spoil your cup of coffee. Of course, it doesn't hold water in a paper filter either, but it works well enough if you dampen the coffee a bit and let it "bloom" and stick together on the filter before pouring in the remaining water. Whichever filter you use, neglecting it will cause the water to come out too quickly to get a good print, and it will weaken your cup.
