I have a 2004 Ford F-150 4.6L 4R70E, new body style, not old build. I ordered two of these and each had a different label. It was a bit confusing at first but it was a real product they just switched to a new label and the picture on Amazon didn't update. (Photos attached). The Mercon V license number, part number and part number were the same. The gearbox was changed at 130km, the recommended interval is 150km but that is under normal driving conditions and I was the second owner so I didn't know the story very well. I also replaced the filter (Motorcraft FT105) and sump with a Dorman 265-813 drain plug so I can drain it in the future without dropping the entire sump. F150 stands for approximately 14 liters of Mercon V transmission fluid. Under normal circumstances, approximately 4-4.5 liters of Mercon V are in the actual transmission 'oil pan' and the remaining 9.5 liters are in the torque converter and radiator lines. Drain and refill 3-4 times to replace most of the gear oil. This is a much safer method than flushing the transmission. I've done two flushes already and they're 100 miles apart. Although I didn't think the transmission was shifting poorly until the fluid was changed, I felt it shift. After the second drain/fill I noticed that it was a bit smoother, almost to the point that the only reason I know it shifts in normal driving is because I can hear the RPM drop . I can't imagine it getting any smoother, but of course I'll be doing 2 more drains/fills over the next few hundred miles to replace most of the fluid.
